The Butterfly House was inspired by the clients' vision of butterflies gently alighting on the meadow that surrounds the site. That simple yet poetic image became the guiding concept for the design, influencing a home that appears to rest lightly on the landscape while embracing its natural surroundings.
Designed as a 6,000-square-foot contemporary residence, the home celebrates the relationship between architecture and nature. Expansive walls of glass, generous outdoor living spaces, and carefully framed views dissolve the boundaries between indoors and out, allowing the surrounding meadow to become an integral part of the living experience.
The clients also desired a home that balanced privacy with connection. Separate guest accommodations provide family and visitors with their own retreat while maintaining a strong connection to the primary living spaces. Clean architectural lines, natural materials, and a restrained palette create a timeless aesthetic that is both sophisticated and welcoming.
Every aspect of the design was thoughtfully considered to create a home that feels light, peaceful, and deeply connected to its setting—a modern retreat inspired by the quiet beauty of the natural landscape.
