COUNTER CULTURE
Counter Culture was envisioned as more than a neighborhood brewery—it was designed as a place where great beer, great food, and community come together. Located in Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood, the goal was to create a space that feels equally comfortable for a casual lunch, an after-work gathering, or an evening spent discovering new craft beers.
The design embraces an industrial aesthetic inspired by the brewing process itself. Expansive storefront windows and operable garage doors blur the line between indoors and out, filling the space with natural light and creating a strong connection to the surrounding neighborhood. Despite its intimate footprint, the open layout and transparent façade make the brewery feel spacious, energetic, and welcoming.
At the heart of the design is the working brewery. A custom two-level brewhouse and fermentation tanks are prominently displayed behind the bar, transforming the brewing process into a visual centerpiece and allowing guests to experience the craftsmanship behind every pint. Rather than hiding the production area, the design celebrates it, making the brewery an integral part of the guest experience.
Complementing the brewery is a full-service kitchen offering elevated comfort food, creating a destination where exceptional beer, thoughtfully prepared food, and inviting architecture come together. Counter Culture has become a vibrant neighborhood gathering place that reflects the creativity, craftsmanship, and community at the heart of Colorado's craft brewing culture.
