Stio's Boulder location marked an important milestone for the brand as its first retail store on Colorado's Front Range and the debut of a new design concept that would help shape future stores. Our goal was to translate Stio's Jackson Hole roots into an authentic retail experience that reflects the spirit of mountain living while introducing the brand to a new community of outdoor enthusiasts.

Inspired by the landscapes of the Tetons and Colorado Rockies, the design combines natural materials, warm wood, stone, steel, and thoughtfully crafted details to create an environment that feels both refined and approachable. The open floor plan encourages exploration, allowing customers to move effortlessly through apparel, equipment, and lifestyle collections while reinforcing the brand's connection to the outdoors.

Every element was designed to express Stio's philosophy of creating beautiful, functional products inspired by life in the mountains. Flexible merchandising, carefully integrated lighting, and understated architectural details keep the focus on the products while creating a memorable shopping experience that reflects the authenticity of the brand.

Sustainability also played an important role in the design approach, aligning with Stio's commitment to responsible manufacturing, conservation, and environmental stewardship. The result is a retail environment that celebrates adventure, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the places that inspire the mountain lifestyle.

As Stio's first Front Range location and the prototype for its evolving retail identity, the Boulder store established a design language that supports the brand's continued growth while remaining true to its Jackson Hole heritage.
